Fr. Marvin Ajic Arana, C.S.
Born on September 1974 in Santa Lucía Cotzumalguapa, in the department of Escuintla in Guatemala and is the eldest of 1 brother and three sisters.
After having completed his studies as a Primary Education Teacher in 1993, he decided to respond to the missionary vocation.
He began his formation in Guadalajara, Jalisco in August 1995 until he finished his Novitiate and professed the First Religious Vows in Purépero Michoacán in December 1998.
He was assigned to study Theology in Rome, where he remained until May 2005, concluding his Licentiate in Spirituality at the Pontifical Gregorian University.
In August 2005, he was sent to his first mission at St. Charles Borromeo Parish in Melrose Park.
In November 2006 he was assigned to the Parish of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary in Sun Valley, CA. In October 2009, he was assigned to St. Helena's Parish in Burnaby, Vancouver to work with the Italian-Canadian community. In this same idea of collaboration, he had the opportunity to work and strongly assist the Hispanic community in the Parish of Our Lady of Sorrows and the Portuguese in the Parish of Our Lady of Fatima.
During these years, he accompanied the movements and actions for the benefit of the Latino community, both from the pastoral and social aspects. He was part of the creation of the "Coalition for Migrant Workers' Justice"; work with the Diocese to strengthen Hispanic ministry, giving space to the enactment for the First Celebration of Migrants Day in Vancouver.
In 2012 he was appointed pastor of the Parish of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary and the Chapel "Our Lady of Zapopan" in Sun Valley, CA. During this period until his new mission in 2020, Father Marvin worked with the promotion and accompaniment of a multilingual parish, made up of Latinos, Filipinos and English-speaking people, together with the direction of the parish's Catholic School.
In February 2020, Father Marvin received the application to work in Nuevo Laredo as director of the Nazareth Migrant House in the state of Tamaulipas, Mexico.
During his administrative management at the Casa del Migrante, Father Marvin faced the COVID pandemic, the arrival and care of a Haitian population that exceeded 10 thousand migrants, the opening of a second house to serve more than 300 pregnant women with their families and the great crisis of Venezuelans that reached approximately 7 thousand people. who, for reasons of pressure and security, had to be cared for in a temporary camp, for almost 7 months.
In February 2024, Father Marvin was appointed director of the Arcángel Rafael II Migrant House in Ecatepec de Morelos. And although the administration only lasted a few months, the responsibility of attending to the more than 200 migrants, evaluating, studying, coordinating and creating a care team, were reached for a more efficient management in the next administration.
Father Marvin has now been appointed Pastor of Sacred Heart and St. Eulalia Parish with the purpose of supporting parish life and sharing the best experiences of his service for more than 19 years.

Padre Marvin Ajic Arana, C.S.
Padre Marvin Leonel Ajic Arana, nació el día 06 de Septiembre del año 1974 en Santa Lucía Cotzumalguapa, del departamento de Escuintla en Guatemala y es el mayor de 1 hermano y tres hermanas.
Después de haber concluido sus estudios como Maestro de Educación Primaria en 1993, decide responder a la vocación misionera.
Inició su formación en Guadalajara, Jalisco en el año en agosto del 1995 hasta terminar su Noviciado y Profesar los Primeros Votos religiosos en Purépero Michoacán en diciembre del 1998.
Fue destinado a estudiar la Teología en Roma, donde permaneció hasta mayo del 2005 concluyendo su Licencia en Espiritualidad en la Universidad Pontificia Gregoriana.
En agosto del 2005, fue enviado a su primera misión en la Parroquia de San Carlos Borromeo en Melrose Park.
En noviembre del 2006 fue destinado a la Parroquia de Nuestra Señora del Santo Rosario en Sun Valley, CA.
En octubre del 2009, fue destinado a la Parroquia de Santa Elena en Burnaby, Vancouver y poder trabajar con la comunidad ítalo-canadiense. En esta misma idea de colaboración, tuvo la oportunidad de trabajar y asistir fuertemente a la comunidad hispana en la Parroquia de Nuestra Señora de los Dolores y a los portugueses en la Parroquia de Nuestra Señora de Fátima.
Durante estos años, acompañó los movimientos y acciones en beneficio de la comunidad latina, ya sea desde el aspecto pastoral como social. Formó parte de la creación de la “Coalición para la justicia de los trabajadores migrantes”; trabajo con la Diócesis para el fortalecimiento del ministerio hispano, dando espacio a la promulgación para la Primera Celebración del Día del Migrante en Vancouver.
En el 2012 es nombrado párroco de la Parroquia de Nuestra Señora del Santo Rosario y la Capilla “Nuestra Señora de Zapopan” en Sun Valley, CA. Durante este período hasta su nueva misión en el 2020, Padre Marvin trabajó con la promoción y acompañamiento de una parroquia multilingüistica, formada por latinos, filipinos y personas de habla inglés, junto a la dirección de la Escuela Católica de la parroquia.
En febrero del 2020, Padre Marvin recibe la solicitud para trabajar en Nuevo Laredo como director de la Casa del Migrante Nazareth en el estado de Tamaulipas, México.
Durante su gestión administrativa en la Casa del Migrante, Padre Marvin enfrentó la pandemia del COVID, la llegada y atención de una población haitiana que superó los 10mil migrantes, la apertura de una segunda casa destinada para atender a más de300 mujeres embarazadas junto a sus familias y la grande crisis de los venezolanos que alcanzaron aproximadamente las 7mil personas, quienes, por motivos de presión y seguridad, tuvieron que ser atendidos en un campamento temporal, por casi 7 meses.
En febrero del 2024, Padre Marvin fue nombrado director de la Casa del Migrante Arcángel Rafael II en Ecatepec de Morelos. Y aunque la administración solo duró algunos meses, la responsabilidad de atender a los más de 200 migrantes, evaluar, estudiar, coordinar y crear un equipo de atención, fueron alcanzados para una gestión más eficiente en la próxima administración.
El Padre Marvin ha sido designado como Parroco a la comunidad de Sagrado Corazon y Sta. Eulalia, con el propósito de apoyar la vida parroquial y compartir las mejores experiencias de su servicio por más de 19 años.
